I was trying to get things ready to be off to bring Dazzle home. Thursday night, 10:30; I’m packed and just need to get the dogs in for the night and then to bed. So, I go out to see why the boys weren’t coming in. I hear the cries of a kitten, and realize one of the dogs is trying to climb a tree. So, I flash the light and two greens eyes looking back. Ok, I’ll go get the leashes and put the dogs away.

After getting the dogs away, this little kitten throws himself out of the tree, and comes right to me. He’s got a loud purr.

Great, it’s 10:30 on the Thursday night, and I’m leaving early in the morning, and won’t be back until Saturday. What am I going to do with this cat?!?!

Temporarily I put him in the van, then; I have a Dane-sized crate set up. So, I put food, water and a box of litter in the crate, and then brought in the kitten. This will give them a chance to meet each other. Ok mom, leave the kitten in the crate (yeah right). Best of luck little buddy.

When I got back home, the crate was open and the little fellow had taken control. He’s a very playful kitten. He is very good about not using crawls, except on the mice. He is a champion mouser.

Who ever gave us this kitten was trying to dispose of this baby. He was too young to have gotten here on his own, and in the dog yard. But; he was also loved, and still is. He’s been very good for mom. Our older cat could care less. But that’s the way the older cat is – he could care less about EVERYTHING.

Maple was the kind of tree he was in. His favorite MO is to hide under the table and attack legs: dog legs, people legs, doesn’t matter, he’ll attack (but not claws).
